Metfone Cambodian League

The Metfone Cambodian League is the top league in Cambodian Football. This division is professional league for Cambodia football clubs. Currently, there are 12 teams that competed grab the championship each team play 22 games.
Which team has the most points and become a champion, and could have the right to attend trophies of Asia Cup (President Cup or AFC Cup). Phnom Penh Crown, Boeungket, Preah Khan Reach, ever to play in this title, But only Phnom Penh Crown reach final and became runner-up, losing Taiwan Power Company. This year starting of new season was slowly than every year due to something changes for the league by all team required to play Home/Away and renovated of Olympic Stadium. This season will begin on 1 July 2015. The champion will be select from top 4 of Metfone Cambodian League rank to match play off.
Because of the lately in starting new season Albirex has announced that they won't participate in 2015 Cambodian League due to financial crisis and replaced by CMAC.

Every year, each team tried to strengthen its capacity to increasingly strong champion to compete and gain support from the audience and the sponsors for their club. They try to finding the best players to join club and train how to play football with professional teacher and training material properly, especially some clubs bought foreign players join with Cambodia's players to further stronger. Cambodian Football Federation has allowed 5 foreign players for each clubs, but only three players on the pitch in the game. Bringing foreign players to join club was not easy, because the need to spend more on salaries and other expenses. So, only the big clubs who are able to take foreign players to join with theirs club.

Phnom Penh Crown has won many trophies in Cambodian Football including a record 5 Cambodian League titles (in 2002, 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2014). Currently, some clubs has built a personal pitch to training and competition in league. Such as, Svay Reing, Phnom Penh Crown, Western Phnom Penh and National Defense Ministry (Army).

Hun Sen Cup is the second title in Cambodia League.It was organized in 2007. There are 28 teams from cities and province in country can be participated in this trophy. There were two stage, called goup and know out stage. Sixteen teams win from group stage played with teams in know out stage until final. In the first season, Khemara Keila was the champion and Nagacorp FC was the runner-up. This year, Hun Sen Cup is organized at Svay Reing stadium and Svay Reing was the champion by win (2 - 1.) over Nagacorp FC.

Now, Cambodia's people are supporting football in Cambodia. When have football game, many people will go to support theirs club, especially if have international football match. Example: Two match of World Cup qualifying has many supporter come to support. In the future, football in Cambodia will be growing because have attention from the Cambodian Football Federation, having more sponsors and the support from people.
